Guardian Cry (Demo)
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
The Empire has invaded the peaceful land of Ilethia. It burns the towns, and those it does not kill, it drives to the hinterlands. It tears into the Earth, defiling the land for mineral resources, and in doing so, it releases a long-buried corruptive force. This corruption infests the land and its creatures, driving them into a blind rage and making them attack everything in sight. Ilethia becomes a violent and perilous place, where imperial sword and enraged beast alike threaten all who live.
Not even Ilethia's four Guardian deities are immune to the maddening effects of the corruption. The steadfast Minotaur, the fierce Gryphon, the wise Phoenix, and the kind Unicorn, once guides and protectors to the people, withdraw into their temples and twist them into hostile, dangerous gauntlets. If they can be defeated in battle, their corruption can be purged, and they will lend their powers to the one who freed them from its influence. It's a perilous journey, but if you can purify all four of the Guardians and gain their powers, you may just become strong enough to defeat the Imperial forces and restore peace to your home.

2nd playthrough -- fun game!
Only issue I noticed on the Mac build was some oddity around picking the resolution -- pressing 'right' will scroll to the highest resolution and then the game won't accept any input until 'right' is pressed again. 'Left' has similar behavior in the opposite direction.
Looking forward to the full release!
Thanks for testing it! I'll see if I can do anything to fix the bug.
Old-school 16-bit dungeon style. Nice colors, nice chiptunes music, nice overall homage to games like Zelda.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
