A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

You, a professor of xenology, have been given the opportunity of a lifetime. The galactic community has discovered a new planet, named Eudaimonia, that is home to a sapient indigenous population. Out of many aspiring candidates, you have been chosen to make initial planetfall and carry out the first expedition to learn about this marvelous world, its alien life, and its native people.

  • A procedurally generated map provides a new experience every time you play!
  • Manage supplies and survive on an unfamiliar world!
  • Find and analyze local fauna!
  • Learn the ways of indigenous villages, give them gifts, and befriend them to hear their stories and gain their help!
  • Try to gather as much research as possible in a timed expedition, or play in endless mode and explore to your heart's content!

Install instructions

TO PLAY THE GAME ON WINDOWS: Download Xenologist-1.02-win.zip, unzip the files, and run Xenologist.exe.

TO PLAY THE GAME ON LINUX: Download Xenologist-1.02.tar.gz, unzip and untar the files, and run Xenologist.x86_64.

TO PLAY THE GAME ON MAC: Download Xenologist-1.02-Linux.zip, unzip the files, and run Xenologist-1.02-Mac.zip\Xenologist.app\Contents\MacOS\Xenologist.

TO ALTER/MODIFY THE GAME: Download Xenologist-source-files-1.02.zip, extract the source files, and open the project in Godot.

This was fun! I chose a medium length campaign, and ended up dying of starvation in the end. The village interactions were my favorite part, it was interesting trying to build narratives around the struggles of each individual village as I was observing them
